As well as furniture restoration I usually have a small selection of pieces for sale (see below). I’m mainly interested in pre-1830 furniture in original condition and try to seek out pieces that I'd be happy to live with myself. Oak corner cupboard
A small Georgian bow fronted corner cupboard, locally made, most likely for a Welsh Marches cottage in the 18th century. Coopered oak doors with mahogany cross-banding, original brass H-hinges, working lock, original Georgian green painted interior, the whole with a beautiful untouched colour.

Regency fire fender
A charming early 19th century fireplace fender, with a brass top rail and cut steel filigree work to the front and sides.

17th century oak chest
An English panelled oak coffer with a hinged top and internal till, in good untouched condition with original iron hinges, lock and escutcheon. As was a common practice at the time, the maker has re-used a couple of pieces of earlier 16th century panelling during its late 17th century construction, including a Tudor rose carved panel on one side.

Thirty hour clock
A mid Georgian single handed thirty hour clock with a caddy top, made circa 1750 by one of the Fordham dynasty of clockmakers in Baintree, Essex. A very similar clock is in the National Trust collection at Plas yn Rhiw, Gwynedd.

Mahogany tripod table
A good quality 18th century mahogany tilt top tripod table with a figured one piece top and pad feet. Original untouched condition bar a couple of historic repairs. The top and base have a wonderful rich patina created by generations of wax polishing.

An unusually small early 18th century oak side table. It has a single piece top and a working drawer in the frieze, raised on well turned legs and stretchers, in pretty much untouched condition with original brassware.

Thirty hour clock
A charming single handed early 18th century longcase clock by John Hawkins of Southampton. Fully restored early lantern type movement in a primitive oak case with brass finials. The movement has the original wooden pulley and weight and strikes the hours on a bell.
